Vintage Hand Painted Enamel Plaque of a Japanese Geisha by Daphne Keskinis VR
A fine vintage enamel plaque. Depicting a Japanese geisha standing in front of what appears to be a toriimon (entrance gate to a temple). Keskinis was born in France and studied at the École des Beaux Arts. She is known for her enamel on copper work depicting a variety of subjects and has displayed a consistent affinity for Japanese themes, ideas, and subject matter. Simply a lovely modern Japonisme painting! It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition. There is a small dent on the right side of the frame, and some rubbing to the gilding to the frame's top left & bottom right corners. Otherwise, there are some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Signed Keskinis to the right. Sight Height: 9 5/8 in.
