Beautiful vintage Limoges enamel on copper plaque signed by the famous made by the Bétourné Studios of Limoges, France, considered the world's finest enamelers. Depicting a Eurasian blue tit bird posed on a branch of red flowers and green leaves, on a dark burnished red background embellished with gold gilt accents. With gorgeous blue and yellow plumage done in vibrant colorful enamel atop foil, the technique provides the scene with a stunning shimmering effect. Vibrant kiln fired enamel on a convex copper plaque, housed in a gilded wood frame. Signed for Bétourné in Limoges France, the family is considered one of the world's foremost enamelists.

The back with a gallery label for R. Bétourné, likely for Raphaël Bétourné whom I believe was the father of Jean Bétourné and Michael Bétourné, a family of renown enamelists. In overall good vintage condition. Frame measures 6" x 6".
