Beautiful enamel on copper painting after El Greco's " Nobleman with a hand on his chest". A truly exquisitely painted enamel on copper painting after El Greco's famous " Nobleman with a hand on his chest" painting from the Prado museum, Madrid Spain. The enamel painting is truly beautifully executed and sits in its original wood and silver plated brass frame. It dates from the 1950's to the early 1960's. The Nobleman with his Hand on his Chest is an oil painting by El Greco.

Painted in Toledo around 1580, and on display at the Museo del Prado, it is the most famous of a series of secular portraits of unknown gentlemen, all of them dressed in black and wearing white ruffs, against dark backgrounds. The plaque being convex in form makes it difficult to photograph it without reflections. 10" H x 8" W Sight size: 5 3/8" x 3 5/8".
