Vintage After Marc Chagall "Lovers" Handmade Enamel on Copper Painting, Attributed to Max Karp. Karp is known as the father of modern painting with enamels on copper. He created both his own originals which are signed with his name and some versions of modern masters paintings by Chagall, Picasso, etc. These multiples probably combine the use of stenciled and freehand application of the enamels on copper plates. This enamel painting has Chagall's signature at the lower right.
The image has beautiful colors and is very well executed. The frame is good quality and made in a purposely distressed dark stained hardwood with a linen liner; all in good condition. The painting is ready to hang.
