HERES AN OUSTANDING ORIGINAL VINTAGE ENAMEL-ON-COPPER STILL LIFE PLATE BY QUEBEC ARTIST MADELEINE TREMBLAY! Measuring just under nine inches (8 7/8) inches in diameter by just under one inch (15/16) in height, Tremblay used her creative juices as a painter to render a striking modernist still life painting depicting a quintessential bowl of fruit. But Tremblay placed her bowl of fruit on stage as if it were performing before an audience, with sumptuous enamel colors made up of yellows, reds, orange and blue, the bold black enamel outlining, a drapery-like blue enamel background, and pastel purple counter on which the bowl is placed front and center. In addition, the plates underside is counter enameled in a light variegated speckled greyish-black enamel.
Signed Madeleine Tremblay in post-firing gold on the underside bottom area. Condition: Outstanding and original absolutely stunning!Aside from one infinitesimal fleabite on the rim area, this enamel plate is top-level in every way.
