Signed Anita Trottier Modern Enamel Copper Art Plate Midcentury Painting 8 3/4

HERES A SIGNED ORIGINAL VINTAGE 1960S OR 1970S MIDCENTURY MODERN ENAMEL-ON-COPPER PLATE BY QUEBEC, CANADA ARTIST ANITA TROTTIER! Measuring approximately eight and three quarter inches (8 3/4) in diameter and one and one quarter inches (1 1/4) in height, Anita Trottier created a highly stylized abstracted surrealist landscape with a black dead-looking barren tree as the central feature. Off in the distance behind the specterlike tree are geometrically-formed stylized mountains rendered in muted brown, orange, and yellow enameling, a grove of dead-looking black trees, and an orange moon (as opposed to a sun with the presumption that this landscape is set at night and not during the day). The plates underside is counter enameled in speckled light blue enameling.

Signed on the underside bottom A. Trottier Québec along with some numbers/letters.

Condition: Excellent and clean condition with one very small surface polyp on the interior near one of the outstretched branches (barely visible). Anita Trottier is self-taught and has practiced her profession for thirteen years. She exhibited at Salons des Métiers d'Art (Arts & Crafts Fairs) in 1972 and 1973. Between these shows, she made a trip for information at several workshops in Vienna (Austria).
