Charming folk art naive painting oil on canvas by California artist Rita Schroeder titled "America". Rita Schroeder is considered to be one of the leading "ART NAIF" artist in America. Her original detailed artworks can be found in museums and important collections around the world.

Her career as a self-taught Artist began when she was selected as a finalist in a Ladies Home Journal contest in 1974. This recognition brought her to the attention of local and international critics, galleries and the public. In 1982 she held a one woman exhibit in Beverly Hills and was also presented the "Jay Award" by the city of Kashiwa Japan. Her work has been selected for the cover of several magazines including, LA Home Magazine, Architectural Digest, Colonial Homes, Design West, Texas Magazine, Palos Verdes Review and Daily Hampshire Gazette. Beginning in 1984, she was commissioned to paint many delightful scenes of American cities, Universities and famous locations. Signed and dated 1978 front and back. 20" x 16" with frame. Some crazing on canvas, otherwise excellent condition.
