In addition, the reductive depiction of the Notre Dame de Paris in this artwork recalls the Metaphysical paintings of Giorgio de Chirico in which he portrayed buildings as imparting mystery and melancholy (see Piazza DItalia). Measures approximately six and three quarters inches (6 3/4) in height by four and seven eighths inches (4 7/8) in width, the artist who created this stellar example of cloisonné enamel art is unknown. There does not appear to be a signature. But it is most likely French in origin and there is no doubt the time period is as early as the 1910s and as late as the 1930s. Condition: Very good toward excellent and clean condition and it has not been cleaned or messed with in any way.
There is one small chip located on the backside top edge as well as some firing imperfections on the backside counter enameling. Overall, the front side with all of the glorious cloisonné imagery is in beautiful condition!
