Purvis Young Horses 1996 Enamel, signed and Spirit Dancers painting, unsigned on each side of a found manila file folder. These were originally glued in a "Gigantic Color Me Story Book Alice In Wonderland" coloring book. Minor paper damage, (to the right of G in his signature) which could be easily fixed, with glue residue on the Horses side. The painting is 16" x 26" and is in excellent condition for a work on paper by Purvis. There is an earlier collector notation on each side, top left and top right respectively in pencil, 1996 65.5 and 1996 65.4.

The drawings from this book have been in our collection since 1998. Earlier labeled as an outsider or folk artist, Purvis had in recent times been referenced as an Urban Expressionist.
