This means that we are dealing here with an original work of Genevan painter on enamel Philippe Prochietto, called Prochet. Philippe Prochietto, called Prochet, was born in 1825 in Geneva and died in 1890. A pupil of the Swiss enamel painter G. Lamuniere, Prochietto was himself known as a very good enamel miniature artist. Besides portraits he painted on enamel very fine copies after Old Masters. Examples of his work can be seen in the Musee des Arts decoratifs in Geneve. Our additional images show few other works of this artist. Condition: fairly good; minor paint loss at 6:30 o'clock see image nr. 4; frame is coming apart (in need of repair). Creation Year: middle 19th Century.
