One of Ojajamonde's favorites is the colorful Rooster, a domestic animal that he admired. OJAJAMONDE was the half brother of E. Tingatinga who originated Tingatinga genre of painting. Ojajamonde worked along side his brother until Tingatinga's unfortunate death in 1972.

When Ojajamonde died in 2015 he was the last of the painters to have known Tingaginga himself. Ojajamonde's paintings like the man himself are happy, fanciful, colorful, and lyrical. The subject matter are animals, birds, and people that communicate a sense of harmony among subjects and background.

Being around his paintings imparts a feeling of well being.
