The inscription is a little unclear, but seems to begin: par Adam le pere ------------- the remainder is unclear. I have not been able to identify the artist, as several members of that family are listed as enamellers located in Geneva, but there is also a French enameller named Adam who died in 1813. The painting is in very good condition for its age and comes in a gilt mount, which has some tarnish/marks. The portrait measures about 3 inches in diameter.
