HUGE 15 French Limoges Painted Lady Enamel Painting Portrait Gilt Ormolu Frame. DESCRIPTION: We are pleased to offer for sale a fabulous antique French miniature portrait, one of many from a prominent Rhode Island collection which we will be listing soon. This large Limoges portrait is finely crafted and detailed and dates from the late 19th century. The portrait depicts a young lady wearing a fine day dress with ruffled skirt and rich royal blue overcoat.

She wears a straw hat with pink plume feather and a white scarf. She carries a wicker basket full of pink roses in a lovely country setting. The portrait features rich and vivid colors, some shimmering, the whole very finely hand-painted and signed by the artist on the lower right. The portrait is housed in a lavish gilt ormolu bronze frame done in the Louis XVI-style, with barbola laurel wreath top, deep purple velvet outer frame/lining, and ornate inner ormolu adornments. The frame features two hanging loops (one damaged) and also fold-out easel.

The portrait will make a fine addition to any collection! CONDITION: The item presents well and is in very good antique condition, with minor display wear and patina commensurate with age. The portrait has minimal wear and patina, and no visible damage. The frame has very minor tarnish, oxidation and loss to gilding; one of the hanging loops is broken off frame but included.

The velvet outer frame has some wear, minor damage and parts of it needs to be re-gluing. Please review all photos before purchasing.
