VINTAGE Howard Finster Original painting on wood. 11 1/8" x 7 1/2" x 1/4.

Enamel & Acrylic with Marker on Wood. The painting depicts the prophecy that the Gospel of Jesus shall be preached to all the nations and then the end shall come.

Colors are bright and vivid. Signed at the bottom by Howard Finster. On the back of the painting he writes that he was saved at age 13 and was 80 years old at the time of the painting.

Finster shares his testimony then quotes Roman 10:9. The work is dated March 17, 1997 and signed in two places on the back.

Known for painting an album cover for R. M and the Talking Heads (which won Album of the Year) his paintings have been exhibited around the world including the Library of Congress and Smithsonian Institute. The original Letterhead receipt is its provenance which matches the work number on the painting with the number on the receipt. A rare opportunity to own a Howard Finster original. This one-of-a-kind painting is an excellent example of the one-of-a-kind folk artist, Howard Finster (1916 - 2001). An important and wonderful addition to any art collection.
