For sale is this very attractive, fully intact and now nearly 80-100 year old, early 20th century Ame ri can folk art vintage, hand made, hand painted, jig-cut, wooden plaque hanging wall sconce, with double brass candle holders on a lower, extending scroll-cut wooden sill. This wonderful hanging wall sconce , features an image of a brightly colored tropical parrot, with spread wings, clutching a wooden branch. The image of the parrot is set against a gold gilt, blazing sun. The gold gilt enamel painted sun or moon, picks up the color of the double brass candle holders on the sill. The enamel painted surfaces are now dry and have a matte finish.
In some areas, the enamel paint is very slightly scuffed and has since receded in vividness and saturation, due to the effects of time and which is evidence of the piece's age and antique pedigree. The hanging wall sconce takes two traditional, tapered wax candles that are seated in two intact and undamaged polished brass candle holders. A great look and in great condition.
A very nice Ame ri can folk art early 20th century vintage artifact. Ready to hang in your home or office. Good to Very Good overall vintage condition.
