DAVID KARP signature in gold enamel (In lower right corner). David Karp is the son of World Renowned Enamel on Copper painter Max Karp. He was instructed in this medium by his Father and no one could ask for a better mentor than the leading artist in this field. This beautiful Impressionist painting is hand painted enamel on copper.
The overall size of the gold frame is 12- 1/8" Tall by 9" wide, with the painting being 11-1/2" by 8-1/2". The scene is a lovely forest view with a single girl with umbrella figure walking among the foliage, birds and trees. The painting is signed "David Karp" in the lower right corner and is in mint condition. The frame is in excellent condition.Please take a look at the photos as they will tell the story of the scene even though the photos really don't do the painting justice. This is a very fine example of David Karp's work and sure to be a welcome addition to your collection.
It's ready to hang and enjoy! David Karp was the son of Max Karp known as the "Father of Enameling". Like his father before him, David chose to dedicate his artistic career to the art of enameling so cherished by his father. His delicate and sensitive approach to art is a salute to his father.
Karp's career was cut short at an early stage as he died in 1989.
