Beautiful Limoges Enamel Portrait Of Saint Fabiola Gloenner. This is a beautiful Fabiola Gloenner recreation that was done by A. A French artist named Jean-Jacques Henner created the original in the late 19th century. The legend goes that this piece was Henners Mona Lisa and it was lost in the early 20th century. These beautiful copies are essentially all thats left of the original masterpiece. Fabiola is one of the early Roman Catholic saints. She belong to a wealthy Roman family. She married a terrible and abusive husband, divorced him and created a huge scandal.

She then remarried and her second husband died. Fabiola made a public penance for the sin of divorce and devoted herself to the church and charity.

She founded a hospital for the poor and a hostile for pilgrims. A novel was written about her by Nicholas Wiseman in 1854 called Fabiola a tale of the Catacombs. She died in 399 A. And wasnt canonized until 537 A. She is the Saintly protector of abused women.

She is also the patron saint to nurses. The frame has a few chips, but its the original frame.
