Very handsome old Wedgwood dinner or cabinet plate, the central field featuring the mottled blue ground we typically associate with the early Wedgwood lustre wares and the wide outer rim portion decorated with a design of fruits in colorful hand-painted enamels. Measures about 10.75 across as shown. Comes from a local Dallas estate, well signed as shown and guaranteed authentic. The early 1900s, about 1900 - 1930. Overall aesthetic is rather Arts & Crafts.Probably intended as a Cabinet plate originally as the delicate enamel design of hand-painted fruit would not long stand up to the rigors of the plate being used for actual dining. Excellent++ with no actual damage of any sort and virtually no wear. There is minor scratching in the glaze in the area of the blue central field that is minor and can only be seen upon holding the plate sideways in the light. Probably where another plate rested on top of this one for a time.
No chips, cracks, hairlines, fleabites, crazing, discolorations, or fading. No white scratches through the blue central field or the fruits design. No wear to the gilt rim or the painted enamel decoration of fruits.
The pics are very honest and show the condition well and the plate is in excellent condition and you won't be disappointed. This gorgeous plate absolutely will not disappoint!
