Antique 11 French Limoges Nobleman Officer Chateau Enamel Painting Portrait. DESCRIPTION: We are pleased to offer for sale a fabulous antique French miniature portrait, one of many from a prominent Rhode Island collection which we will be listing soon. This large Limoges portrait on copper is finely crafted and detailed and dates from the late 19th century. It depicts a Nobleman and French army officer reading a letter, with a discarded envelope at his feet, in a lavish Chateau interior with boiserie, Regency marble fireplace mantel, and Louis XV trumeau mirror, with a simple French country chair in the background. The portrait features rich and vivid colors, some shimmering, the whole very finely hand-painted and signed by the artist on the lower right. The portrait is housed in an elegant silvered-gilt wooden frame with velvet lining. The portrait will make a fine addition to any collection! CONDITION: The item presents well and is in very good antique condition, with minor display wear and patina commensurate with age. The portrait has minimal wear and no visible damage. The frame has minor wear, scuffing and light wear. Please review all photos before purchasing.
