It depicts a Nobleman and French army officer reading a letter, with a discarded envelope at his feet, in a lavish Chateau interior with boiserie, Regency marble fireplace mantel, and Louis XV trumeau mirror, with a simple French country chair in the background.
The portrait features rich and vivid colors, some shimmering, the whole very finely hand-painted and signed by the artist on the lower right. The portrait is housed in an elegant silvered-gilt wooden frame with velvet lining. The portrait will make a fine addition to any collection! CONDITION: The item presents well and is in very good antique condition, with minor display wear and patina commensurate with age. The portrait has minimal wear and no visible damage.
