HERES A 9 ¾ SIGNED ORIGINAL VINTAGE 1960S OR 1970S MIDCENTURY MODERN ENAMEL-ON-COPPER PLATE BY QUEBEC, CANADA ARTIST ANITA TROTTIER DISPLAYING A SPECTACULAR ABSTRACTION THAT APPEARS TO BE BIRDS! Measuring approximately nine and three quarters inches (9 3/4) in diameter and one and one quarter inches (1 1/4) in height, Anita Trottier created a highly stylized abstraction that looks to be at least two and possibly three birds. The first one has the large white and brown enameled body that culminates in a black, brown, and white head and beak.

Underneath and to the left of the large birds beak is another black and brown enameled bird with an orange-red enameled center. And the third possible bird is the brown and black enameled whiplash curve rising upward from the large birds backside.

Three small orange-red enameled circles sit atop the third birds head and beak. The entire abstraction is set against a beautiful dark blue-to-green-to-orange-to-yellow enameled background. The plates underside is counter enameled in speckled light blue enameling. Signed in black enameling on the underside bottom A.

Condition: Generally excellent and clean condition with a couple of small surface scratches on the front interior. Otherwise, this is a spectacular example of Anita Trottiers enamel art!
