2 Vintage 20th C Framed ENAMEL ON COPPER Paintings signed MAX KARP. A day at the beach and girl with balloon. My Aunt bought 6 in 1961. From a local estate, we have a pleasure to offer you 2 wonderful works of art Framed Vintage ENAMEL ON COPPER painting by Max Karp.
Featuring A Day at the Beach and Girl with balloon. They are 2 very captivating scenes, gorgeous. They are c ontained in subdued wood frames. They are from Max Karp's early collection of unsinged works.
Great condition (please see photos). Size is nice 5.5" x 6.5" overall in the frame, while the enameled portion is 4.5" x 2.5" for The Girl with Balloon. Size is nice 6.75" x 5.75" overall in the frame, while the enameled portion is 4.75" x 5.75" for A Day at the Beach.Orks of art rising in value, you will be impressed every time you lay your eyes on Them! MAX KARP : A self-taught artist born in Ohio in 1916, and raised in California.
Schooled in Southern California he began painting by recording in his oils various species of birds and insects for his father, who was an ornithologist/entomologist. In the mid-1960's, Karp became interested in the enamel process. Beginning on a small scale, he taught himself the enamel technique and later experimented with the large paintings in enamel for which he is best known. In 1970 Hamilton Mint commissioned Karp to produce four paintings of the seasons of the year, which were then issued as a limited edition of plates on precious metal. In 1980 Karp's 20 x 24-inch enamel portrait of Beverly Sills was presented to the Sills following her final performance as a full-length opera singer. In addition, numerous private art collectors, including Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Happy Rockefeller and Sarah Churchill, have acquired works by Max Karp for their collections.
