19c. Victorian Tiger Claw 18k Gold Mounted Vinaigrette Scroll Engraved Chatelaine

Hello dear customers, offered here is an authentic antique from circa 1860s French scent vinaigrette gold chatelaine pendant. Absolutely very rare vinaigrette, an authentic tiger claw with 18k gold mount with a gold chain and loop. The gold has been beautifully decorated with foliate scrolls. Marked with French gold hallmarking on the lid and on the grill.

The lovely gold grille is in excellent condition with a good working hinge and the original sponge is still in place. The outer hinge is excellent and the vinaigrette closes tightly. The claw with natural surface hairlines. It was recently inspected by professional jeweller to confirm gold purity and authenticity. Found at estate sale in Paris, not sure for its exactly history other than it came from an estate of a world traveler and antiques collector. Measures: 1.75'' long x 1.25'' wide. All my items are one-offs, quite often commissions, meticulously handmade by skilled craftsmen of old.
