Antique Enamel Limoges Plaque The Love Letter Signed
This charming Limoges piece depicts a young woman who is love struck by a letter she has just received. She stares off into space in that love lorn fashion we all know. Her face is very delicate and expressive.
The painting is after a painting by Fragonard with the same name. This rendition is painted by A Adam on a copper plate with enamel.The piece is beautifully framed. There are a large number of stickers on the back, which we have left on. The piece itself is in very good condition, with no chips to the ename. The frame has seen some life and has numerous nicks to the highly polished wood frame. Measurements are: frame height 9 1/8, width 7 3/4" and 1 1/2" deep, image is 4 5/8" by 3 1/4".
